Ancient to the Future and the Lamar University Literary Press are offering a $1,000 writing prize and the opportunity to get published to students at the five biggest high schools in Orange County.

- A prize for the best writing on extreme weather and inequality
- Write your ideas or your story, fiction or non-fiction, poetry or spoken word
- 1500 words or less
- Winner must be enrolled at Bridge City, Little Cypress-Mauriceville, Orangefield, Vidor, or West Orange-Stark High School in Orange County, TX
- One $1,000 cash prize per high school
- Winners and more of the best writing will be published
